The MRO Sales Manager is responsible for accelerating revenue growth for Columbia Helicopters Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul organization, with a strategic mandate to grow the business. This role will grow and retain existing accounts, identify new commercial and government opportunities, lead capture planning activities, and develop customer relationships that convert into long-term, profitable MRO sales. The ideal candidate is a highly credible aviation sales professional with deep aerospace, maintenance, military, commercial, and U.S. Government market experience. This person must be able to operate effectively with executive-level customers and internal leadership while building a disciplined pipeline, positioning differentiated solutions, and closing complex opportunities in domestic and international markets. This is a remote position with approximately 35% travel required, both domestic and international, to support customer engagement, business development activities, industry events, trade shows, customer visits, and operational requirements. WHAT YOU WILL DO Business Development and Revenue Growth Grow and retain existing MRO accounts by presenting new solutions, services, and value-added offerings to customers. Develop and execute sales strategies that support growth from a $20 million business to a $100 million organization. Develop and execute a business development plan that supports a $100 million annual revenue target across all MRO capabilities for commercial and government/military customers. Identify potential clients, customer needs, decision makers, budget owners, and procurement pathways within target organizations. Cold call and prospect as appropriate to maintain a robust pipeline of qualified opportunities. Meet potential customers by growing, maintaining, and leveraging strong aviation, aerospace, military, commercial, and government networks. Research target accounts and build trusted relationships with new and existing customers. Track account activity, advance opportunities through the sales process, and help close deals that meet or exceed sales targets Capture Strategy, Proposals, and Customer Engagement Collaborate with cross-functional teams to qualify opportunities and develop capture plan strategies for key business pursuits. Set up meetings between customer decision makers and Columbia Helicopters executives. Plan customer approaches, develop pitches, and tailor messaging to each customer's mission, operating environment, concerns, and objectives. Work with internal teams to develop proposals that speak directly to customer needs, including scope, technical solution, schedule, pricing, quality, and support requirements. Participate in pricing solutions and services to ensure proposals are competitive, profitable, and aligned with business objectives. Handle objections by clarifying concerns, emphasizing areas of agreement, and working through differences to reach a positive conclusion. Present a professional image that reflects the expectations and standards of the customer and the Columbia Helicopters brand Market Intelligence and Relationship Management Attend industry functions, trade shows, association events, and conferences to represent the organization and identify new business opportunities. Identify and develop marketing, conference, and trade show strategies in support of MRO revenue growth objectives. Provide feedback and insight on market trends, customer requirements, competitor positioning, and emerging opportunities. Use knowledge of the market and competitors to identify and develop Columbia Helicopters' unique selling propositions and differentiators. Work with marketing and internal support teams to ensure prerequisites such as prequalification, vendor registration, or approved supplier status are completed in a timely manner. Manage multiple accounts domestically and internationally while maintaining effective customer relationships. Pipeline, CRM, Forecasting, and Reporting Submit bi-weekly progress reports on leads, opportunities, customer activity, and pipeline movement. Ensure data is accurately entered and managed within Columbia Helicopters' CRM system. Forecast sales targets, communicate pipeline risks, and help ensure targets are met. Maintain accurate records of account activity, opportunity status, customer requirements, and next steps. WHAT WE NEED FROM YOU 10+ years of aviation experience preferred. Minimum of 10 years of relevant military experience in aviation roles preferred. Minimum of 10 years of aviation maintenance experience. Minimum of 10 years of supervisory, leadership, or program management experience preferred. Thorough knowledge of working with commercial customers, U.S. Government entities, Department of Defense organizations, and Foreign Military Sales programs. Experience navigating government sustainment and aviation support organizations preferred. Has existing relationships within Department of Defense, military aviation, or government sustainment organizations; international defense and Foreign Military Sales experience preferred. Familiarity with U.S. Army, U.S. Army National Guard, and Foreign Military Sales procurement processes and defense contracting environments, including knowledge of funding authorizations. Secret security clearance preferred. Strong understanding of the aerospace industry, including MRO services, customer buying processes, competitive dynamics, and quality expectations. Experience managing multiple domestic and international accounts. Excellent oral and written communication skills, including executive-level presentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs and CRM systems.
