Social Security Attorney

JOB SUMMARY As a Social Security Attorney at Disability Law Group, you’ll manage a high-volume caseload and represent clients in disability claims and hearings. You’ll collaborate closely with a dedicated Case Manager, Records Managers, and our growing tech-supported infrastructure, including AI tools for brief generation and hearing prep. This position is ideal for a motivated attorney seeking purpose-driven work in a fast-paced, client-centered environment. You will be assigned a Case Manager to assist with a lot of the grunt work for your cases as well as a team to assist with intake, file ordering, etc. This is a full-time position offering competitive pay, BCBS benefits and PTO. RESONSIBILITIES/JOB DUTIES Represent clients before the SSA at all levels: Initial Application, Reconsideration, ALJ Hearings, and Appeals Council. Draft legal briefs, memoranda, and Appeals Council letters. Collaborate with Case Managers to prepare ERE submissions and ensure timely record acquisition. Maintain consistent client communication with empathy and professionalism. Monitor filing deadlines, hearing schedules, and appeals using Prevail and ERE systems. Participate in weekly department meetings and attorney strategy sessions. Work closely with supervising attorney on complex matters and receive structured mentorship. Option to participate in Federal USDC work over time (not required initially). KEY SKILLS JD from an accredited law school Licensed and in good standing with the State Bar of Michigan Prior SSA representation experience preferred but not required Strong writing, communication, and time management skills Commitment to disability rights and client-centered advocacy Strong analytical, technical, written, communication, and interpersonal skills Location: Remote. Potential occasional office visits if in the Troy area.
